Inspired by the abundance of lichen found on the stonewalls of Clapham this work explores the mosaic like patterns and irregular circular formations of the many fungi which exist on this solid surface. Using a single photograph and overlapping the composition to create a wreath like shape, then developing the work further with ink wash which is photographed and layered with the lichen image, the patterns evolve and become symbiotic with emerald green hues interspersed with monochromatic colours, acknowledging natures ability to adapt & co-exist alongside other elements
Original Digital Photograph printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® - size 14” x 14” (white frame)
