Inspired by the mosaic like patterns & irregular circular formations of lichen found on the trees & walls of a small north Yorkshire village. This piece is a combination of multiple photographs reflecting the deciduous nature of trees in the winter months, exposing their intertwining silhouettes & asymmetrical forms as they are enveloped by layers of the perpetual lichen. The symbiotic relationship is echoed in the beautiful empty spaces emphasised by the contrasting tonal greys fading to the edge of the outer circle as we wait for a new cycle to begin.
